"If you enjoy contemporary country style without any froufrou fussiness, then you will love Big Brook Retreat. These well-appointed cottages are simply charming – from their idyllic setting on a rise overlooking Big Brook Forest to their rammed limestone and Western Red Cedar construction – everything about the Retreat is designed to induce a sense of tranquillity and relaxation.

Sit on the verandah and watch the birdlife, cook up a feast in the full kitchen or fire up the BBQ. Whatever you do, make sure you stay long enough to enjoy all that the Retreat and the Pemberton region can offer. Explore the famous karri forests, try canoeing, play golf, visit cellar doors, check out nearby restaurants and cafes, swim at Big Brook Dam and if you want to walk the Bibbulmun Track, it passes Big Brook Retreat only 1½ kilometres away.

Back at Big Brook, enjoy the log fire on cooler nights and the air-conditioning in the warmer months, though the wonderful rammed earth construction keeps everything nicely balanced throughout the year. And if you can only spare a day or two (what are you thinking?), we suggest the B&B style rooms in the homestead.
